Unit 1: Your Feelings This unit focusses on identifying and promoting positive health behaviors, including physical, mental, and emotional health.
Lesson 1 & 2 : Staying Healthy, Showing Good Character, and Making Wise Decisions. How do you keep your body, relationships and mind healthy? Students will demonstrate ways in which they can enhance and maintain their health and well-being. Students will understand and demonstrate how to promote positive health practices within the school and community, including how to cultivate positive relationships with their peers.
Key Vocabulary: - Good Character is a way of acting that is best for you and others. - When you choose something you make a decision. A wise decision is the best choice.
Lesson 3 & 4: How You See Yourself The students will demonstrate personal characteristics that contribute to self-confidence and self-esteem
ManagingStress The students will develop and use effective coping strategies. They will develop protective factors that help foster resiliency.
Key Vocabulary: - Self-Concept is the way you see yourself. - Stressis the changes that happen in your body when you have strong feelings.
Lesson 5 Mistakes Happen The students will learn that we while we make mistakes we can learn from them . They will develop and us effective coping strategies. They will demonstrate personal characteristics that contribute to self-confidence and self-esteem.
